Hollywood Desperation (again)

A while back, I made a post about how I was looking for some new standard action flicks with training montages and what not. Apparently, Hollywood missed a little something in my appeal for "new" action flicks. By new, I meant make some movies with action stars that can't collect social security. What I didn't mean is go dig up Sylvester Stallone for Rocky Balboa and Rocky IV, Harrison Ford for another Indiana Jones film, or Bruce Willis for Live Free or Die Hard. Yes, all of those are happening.

Stallone is 61 years old, Ford is 66, and Bruce Willis' wife is now married to Ashton. I'm supposed to buy these guys as action heroes now? I just don't know that I can and if I don't....well, who does? That's my question. Will I see Rocky Balboa? I don't know, I might. My guess is that it will be on DVD though. The rest of these, I doubt it.

Speaking of DVDs...shouldn't everyone with a box set for the aforementioned film franchises be pissed about now? I mean, I have the Rocky box set myself. I don't apologize for it. I don't own any of the others. Wouldn't you feel pretty safe owning the Rambo box set the past few years though, that they weren't going to make any more flippin' Rambo movies? Even if they did, they surely wouldn't be with Sly, so they couldn't be anything you would care about, right? Well, surprise! What a stomach punch. Really though, should you be pissed? Probably not. My guess is this ends badly. Do I really need The Godfather III in my box set? Heck no. I wish I could forget that movie existed. It's an abomination in my DVD collection.

Anyway, I'm done. Enjoy your day. Dream about the Chuck Norris comeback movie.

Jay-Zeezy and B

So something sad occurred to me tonight. I own the new album from Jay-Z and also the new one from Beyonce. No, that's not the sad part. I was listening to Deja Vu, the first track on B's album and realized that I think this is the best Jay-Z rap effort amongst the two albums. Everyone knows my thoughts that Beyonce is to Jay-Z as Brooke Shields was to Andre Agassi so that doesn't need to be said again. Let's just hope he finds his Steffi Graf with the quickness.

Still, I'm glad for a new album from Jay. Even though it's mediocre, he still drops some clever lyrics that I can get behind here and there.
