WSOP 2007
It is approximately one year ago today that this happened. Somehow this seems like forever ago. This was just an incredible time and being part of it was something that you could never forget. I'm a little sad today that Mark, Chad, and James are leaving for Vegas sans me for a repeat performance and I won't be along. I know that all three of them are greatly improved poker players and I wouldn't be shocked to hear about any of them going deep. I could see James even run out to a sick chip lead with his uber-aggro style. If he could channel that in a Mark Seif on a good day sort of way, it would be incredible. Chad and Mark are just such good solid poker players that nothing would surprise me from them. I could see them both final tabling this against all odds. Anyway, wanted to shout out a good luck to all 3 of them today. I promised Mark that I will be there on Monday if he final tables so here's to hoping that I'm purchasing an overpriced last second plane ticket to Vegas.
As for me, I'm showing up later to play a $1500 no limit event on June 23rd. There are a bunch of other cool activities planned also on the voyage. I should have probably played the no limit short-handed event, as that is all I ever play but I still think that I can do some damage. I'm pumped to play. I need to get some quality hours in between now and then but I think it's possible to cash for sure. As Stu Ungar said, "tournaments are all about winning small pots early and then hoping to get lucky." That's what I'll be trying to do.
